Garrett has instilled much-needed discipline

The Cowboys have been a more disciplined team under Jason Garrett. One of the constant criticisms of Wade Phillips was that by giving players so much freedom, they did not fear the consequences of making mistakes.

In eight games under Phillips, the Cowboys averaged 7.75 penalties and 63.3 penalty yards per game. In four under Garrett, they have averaged 5 penalties and 38.3 yards.
