Rob Ryan hasn’t officially taken charge of the Cowboys defense yet, but his impending hire has already put changes in motion.
Linebackers coach Reggie Herring has now been granted permission to speak to the Houston Texans. Former Cowboys coach Wade Phillips inquired about Herring after he was hired by the Texans. The Cowboys intially said no because they wanted, in part, to give their new defensive coordinator the ability to put together his staff.
